Have fun cruising in this beautiful 1953 Chevrolet Bel Air hardtop coupe.  Newly refinished in Viper Red with a White top basecoat/clearcoat, this car has plenty of eye appeal.  Complementing the exterior is a new rolled and tucked grey vinyl interiorDummy spotlights, a louvered hood, and 1954 grille and tail lamps give this classic a mild custom look which is just perfect for cruising around town or showing at local car shows.

In addition to its fresh paint and interior, other recent enhancements include the following:

  • New power steering unit
  • New two-speed electric windshield wiper motor
  • New 12-volt wiring
  • Ignition and steering column with padded steering wheel
  • New trunk interior
  • New outside sun visor
  • Front-end rebuild
  • Custom pinstriping graphics by Montana

Your driving experience will be further enhanced by a Sony AM/FM stereo cassette with rear and door speakers, and a full complement of instrumentation, including amps, temperature, fuel, and oil pressure gauges.

Originally a 6-cylinder car, this car now sports a short block 350 CID V-8 engine with a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission.  The engine compartment has been dressed with aluminum valve covers and a chrome air cleaner.  It also features a dual exhaust system with new mufflers.  Showing approximately 35,000 miles, total mileage is unknown, and the clear Ohio title reflects the mileage as “exceeds mechanical limits.”

A few items of note are that the chrome exhibits some minor pitting and imperfections, but is in overall good condition.  Additionally, minor imperfections in the paint do not detract from the overall appearance of the car.  There is also some slight delamination of the rear quarter windows along the edges.  In addition, the oil pressure sending unit is believed to be bad, resulting in inaccurate gauge readings, and the heater blower motor does not currently function.

The car’s skirts, which will be included with sale, rub slightly with the currently installed wire wheel covers, but a set of half moon hubcaps that fit with the skirts will also be included with sale.  Also included is a Chevrolet Passenger Car Shop Manual and a photograph album documenting the car’s recent cosmetic restoration.

If a “get in and go” classic 1950s cruiser at a very reasonable price is what you desire, this car is for you.
