Powered by a 496 CID V-8 bored 60 over and a turbo 400 3-speed automatic transmission, this fire breathing Pro Street has the power to match its eye-catching looks.  Its 31 spline rear axle is fitted with a Ford 9” rear end with a street gear and cruises comfortably at 2000 RPM at 60 MPH.  Fuel is supplied by a Demon 850 4-barrel carburetor.   With an 11.5 compression ratio, it runs on pumped gas with an octane booster.  Other mechanical upgrades include the following:

  • Martz chassis
  • Mustang front end
  • Rack and pinion power steering
  • Four-bar linkage rear suspension
  • Griffin aluminum radiator
  • New valve covers
  • Electric fan
  • Painless wiring
  • Performance exhaust system
  • Custom made fuel tank
  • Power front disc brakes

With less than 200 miles since its completion in late 2011, this fully streetable car runs and drives as well as it looks.

Performance was not done at the expense of this car’s appearance, as one look at its show quality finish and visually striking color will convince you.  With the exception of its fiberglass hood, this Pro Street is all steel.  Custom touches include its custom grill and a rear station wagon bumper.  Custom wheels and new chrome and polished stainless steel trim complete the look.  It also benefits from new glass and mirrors.

The interior is equally impressive and features new seats, door panels, carpeting, headliner, and dash board.  You will also appreciate its Flaming River tilt steering column and full battery of Westach and Dolphin instrumentation, including tachometer.  Comfort features include power windows and remote opening door and trunk.

One item of note is that the clock and stereo are not currently functioning.  Unupholstered racing seats and racing harnesses will also be included with sale if so desired.  All available documentation from the build will also be provided to the next owner of this car.

If you prize quality and attention to detail, this 1957 Chevrolet Pro Street will not disappoint.
