The Chevrolet Impala name has long been synonymous with value, dependability, and performance.  Such were its virtues that over 800,000 Impalas found homes in the garages of American consumers in 1964.  From work-a-day 6-cylinder sedans and station wagons to performance oriented Super Sport models, the Impala filled an important niche in the full size American car market throughout the 1960s.

This beautiful matching numbers 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS has traveled less than 51,000 miles in its 50 year life.  Finished in its original color of Silver Blue Metallic, the newer finish has a beautiful luster that is further accentuated by an abundance of chrome and bright work that is in very nice original condition.  Its dual exhaust and Super Sport badging and wheel covers let you know that this is no run-of-the-mill Impala.

Distinctive touches can also be found in the Light Blue interior—including bucket seats and a center console—features unique to the SS model.  The seating areas, door panels, dash board, and center console are in very good original condition, exhibiting only minor wear.  In addition to SS interior appointments, you will also appreciate this car’s optional equipment, including the following:

  • Turbo-fire 327 CID V-8
  • Powerglide automatic transmission
  • Power steering
  • Power brakes
  • AM radio & rear speaker
  • 2-speed wipers
  • Tinted windshield
  • Padded dash

All features work as they should with the exception of the clock and windshield washers.

Under the hood you will find the original 250 HP Turbo-fire 327 CID V-8 which is mated to its original Powerglide automatic transmission.  More recent mechanical updates include a new starter, master cylinder, and conventional oil filter, but the original oil filter canister and other parts will be included with sale.  Having just 51,000 original miles, this car runs and drives as well as it looks.

Also included with sale are the original sales invoice, owner’s manual, sales brochure, and all ownership history.

One item of note is that the finish and brightwork exhibit minor imperfections, but these do not detract from the overall appearance of the car.
