"138" Code Super Sport ... Muncie 4-speed manual ... 454 CID V-8 ... Factory power disc brakes ... 100 miles since completed ...
Chevrolet marked its introduction into the muscle car arena with its first generation of Chevelles, which debuted in 1964. Its nimble size and crisp styling were the perfect complement to its ever-more-powerful engine lineup. And when equipped as a Super Sport, its sporty styling cues did not belie its impressive performance.
This stunning frame-off restored 1967 Chevelle SS is an original “138” code car and is finished in its original color of Tuxedo Black. Its finish has a mirror-like luster that is further enhanced by chrome and brightwork that is in excellent condition. “SS 396” badging lets you know that this is no run-of-the-mill Chevelle. Its simulated hood scoops, bright trim moldings, and red line tires complete the look.
The original black interior of this Chevelle is equally sporty, and shows minimal wear. You’ll also appreciate its optional factory tachometer and gauge package which features an optional and rare “speed warning indicator.” Its AM/FM radio will provide added enjoyment.
Under the hood is a newly rebuilt 454 CID V-8 bored 30 over which generates an estimated 425 HP. The engine is mated to a newly rebuilt Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. This car also features a Hurst Competition Plus shifter which has been custom fitted to its original shifter, resulting in improved performance over the original, while still retaining a stock look. The 4.11 positraction rear-end provides plenty of launching torque. Its dual exhaust system has just the right amount of rumble, and its optional power front disc brakes and 15” red line tires will help you bring the car to a stop with ease.
Owned by the most recent owner since 1990, this Chevelle has benefited from a frame-off restoration that was completed in 2012. As part of this restoration, the car was taken down to bare metal prior to a laser straight application of its original color. Any exterior chrome needing to be redone was also addressed at this time. In addition to the engine and transmission being rebuilt, the brake cylinders, power brake booster, and master cylinder were also rebuilt. It has been driven less than 100 miles since completed, but total mileage is unknown. Restoration photos are available and can be provided upon request.
If a highly desirable muscle car in the right color is what you desire, this Chevelle SS is for you!
