The Ford Mustang was one of the most popular cars produced in the 1960s, and it was not without reason. Sporty styling, excellent performance, a comfortable ride—and an attractive price—proved just the ticket with a whole generation of American car buyers. Over 50 years after its introduction, the iconic Mustang’s pull is just as strong.
This stunning 1968 Ford Mustang combines the best of both worlds—having the performance of today’s modern technology and the iconic styling of one of yesterday’s most prized American muscle cars. Newly finished in Viper Silver Metallic basecoat/clearcoat with Black rallye stripes, this Mustang’s finish has a mirror-like luster. It benefits from a recently completed total nut and bolt restoration in which no cosmetic or mechanical detail was overlooked. Prior to the application of its show quality finish, the entire car—including exterior, interior, and undercarriage—was media blasted. Having been stored for 20 years prior to restoration in a climate controlled environment, this Mustang retains virtually all of its original rust-free sheet metal—a rarity among restored Mustangs today.
Under the hood you will find a brand new 302 CID ATK High Performance crate motor that is mated to a brand new Gearstar C-4 automatic transmission. Other mechanical and performance upgrades include the following new items:
Having just 500 miles since being completed, this car runs and drives as well as it looks. One tap of the accelerator will reward you with a satisfying exhaust note that will have you craving the straightaway.
Exterior cosmetics did not take a back seat to mechanicals in the meticulous restoration of this car. Brand new cosmetic items include the following:
The interior is equally fresh in appearance and features a brand new interior, including Dynamat sound deadening, carpeting, headliner, and seat padding and covers. A Lokar shifter and brand new digital and analog gauges lend a distinctly “resto-mod” look to the interior. In addition, lovers of today’s comforts will appreciate its Flaming River tilt steering column, Custom Autosound stereo, and ice cold Vintage air conditioning.
With completely upgraded modern mechanicals and brand new cosmetics from headlamp to tail lamp—this 1968 Mustang has it all!
