The Chevrolet Chevelle has long been synonymous with pure American muscle.  With its sporty styling and reputation for performance, it’s no wonder that it was the most popular mid-sized car in America.  With appearance and performance tweaks each year, 1970 models are some of the most sought-after of the second-generation Chevelles today.

This fully restored 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 coupe is finished in its original color of Forest Green and features sporty White racing stripes.  Its fresh base coat/clear coat finish has a beautiful luster that is further accentuated by its chrome and brightwork that is in excellent condition.  Its optional ZL2 cowl induction hood option features a fully functional automatic cowl hood and hood lock pins.  Dual chrome-tipped exhaust pipes and SS Rallye wheels wrapped in new red-line tires complete the look.

The interior is equally sporty, featuring Ivory vinyl strato bucket seats and a center console.  The seating areas, carpeting, dashboard and interior door panels, and headliner appear as new.  You’ll also appreciate its very rare optional AM/FM stereo radio, a one-year option.  Other options include deluxe seat belts and a tilt steering wheel.  Its full battery of factory gauges will keep you fully informed about its performance.

Under the hood you will find the beast that lies within—a 454 CID V-8 mated to a Muncie M22 rock rusher 4-speed manual transmission.  Rated at 450 horsepower from the factory, this stock, fully rebuilt powertrain was dynoed at 505 horsepower.  Its fully rebuilt 3.73 posi-traction rear-end packs plenty of off-the-line punch.  The original 3.31 gears will also be included with sale.  You’ll also appreciate the addition of a chambered dual exhaust, which will reward you with a growly exhaust note with each punch of the pedal.  Optional power steering and power front disc brakes will have you firmly in control in the cockpit.

A “barn find” prior to its complete rotisserie restoration that was completed within the last year, this Chevelle has just 25,900 original miles.  The complete mechanical and cosmetic restoration was completed with great attention to detail, and everything works as it should.

If a fully restored muscle car that is ready to enjoy is what you desire, look no further than this stunning 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6.
