There is something very captivating about Corvettes.  They have long captured the imaginations of generations of sports car lovers.  If you didn’t have one, you wanted one, and if you were lucky enough to own one, you cherished it.

One such “cherished” one is this sporty 1974 Corvette Stingray Convertibleone of just 5,474 convertibles produced that year. Finished in sporty Mille Miglia Red, this Corvette has been in the hands of its owner for the past twenty years.  Its finish has a nice luster that is further accentuated by its sporty rallye wheels and new Saddle convertible top.  Raised white letter radials and dual exhaust complete the package.

Sportiness on this Corvette is not relegated to exterior styling alone, and its interior will not disappoint.  It features comfortable bucket seats finished in Medium Saddle vinyl and a center console that will surround you like a cockpit.  The seat cushions, covers, interior door panels, dashboard and interior side quarter trim were replaced when this car’s restoration was completed in 2007.  Full instrumentation will keep you fully informed about what’s going on under the hood.  You’ll also appreciate its updated AM/FM stereo cassette.

Under the hood you will find its original L-48 350 CID V-8 engine, which is mated to its original Turbo Hydra-matic three-speed automatic transmission.  The transmission was rebuilt when the car was restored.  Other mechanical updates include the following:

  • New valve seals
  • L-82 valve covers
  • Water pump
  • Radiator
  • Carburetor
  • Electric fuel pump
  • Wiper motor
  • Control arm dust covers
  • Idler arm, sway bar bushings & shocks
  • Brake pads, calipers, discs, master cylinder
  • Differential seal & fluid
  • U-joints
  • Battery
  • Tires

Its optional power steering and power disc brakes will have you firmly in control on those twisty two lanes.  Having just 82,200 original miles, this well-maintained car runs and drives as well as it looks, having regularly been driven in the summers and properly stored in the off-season.

Lovers of originality will appreciate its original owner’s manual and sales brochures, as well as the replica of the original window sticker, all of which will be provided to the new owner, in addition to a custom car cover.

Having won over 30 awards and trophies at numerous cruise-ins, Corvette Club, AACA and CCCA shows, and other prestigious invitationals, this Corvette is a crowd pleaser!

One item of note is that the heater and air conditioning are not currently working.

If a rare convertible that is ready for the road is what you desire, this 1974 Corvette convertible is the one for you!
