50,000 original miles … Rare coupe … Bright Dark Blue Metallic exterior … Factory 8-track … All power options … Dual exhaust …

Please take advantage of this opportunity to purchase this beautifully maintained rust free and low mileage 1976 Mercury MARQUIS BROUGHAM 2-door coupe.  Production of the 2-door Marquis Broughams was well under half of that of the 4-door Marquis Broughams with a total of only 10,431 2-door coupes seeing the light of day in 1976, which makes finding a 2-door coupe in this condition with under 50,000 original miles quite rare.  Why settle for a more common 4-door when you can have a 2-door Marquis Brougham?

Finished in bright dark blue metallic finish and white pin striping with a perfect dark blue vinyl top, this car definitely makes a statement.  The paint has a brilliant luster, and is further enhanced by this car’s abundance of chrome and bright-work which is in excellent condition.  The car also has a beautiful medium blue “Kashmir” interior that has the appearance and texture of genuine cashmere.  The seats, door panels, headliner, and carpeting are without imperfection and look as good as they did in 1976, when this car left the showroom floor.

You will also appreciate the level of optional equipment with which this car is equipped, including power windows, power locks, power driver’s seat, power antenna, power trunk release, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, rear window defroster, 8-track AM/FM stereo, carpeted factory floor mats and dual exhaust system.

This car was acquired from the son of the second owner.  The previous owner’s father purchased the car from the original owner in the late 1980s and enjoyed the car as a pleasure car until he passed away and left the car to his son in 2001.  His son took excellent car of the car, seldom driving it (in fact it was only driven a few thousand miles from 2001 to 2009), but always properly maintaining and storing the car.  In fact, not only was the car always stored indoors, but it was also covered with a car cover to preserve the beautiful condition of the car.  It is for this reason that the body, frame and floor pans are free of rust.  As the prior owner’s teenage children were reaching driving age, and garage space was at a premium, he and his wife decided that it was time to part with “Dad’s Merc” and let someone else enjoy this car.

All available service records for this car will be provided to the next owner of this car.  In addition to the original owner’s manualincluded with the sale of this car are a complete 5-volume set of 1975 – 1976 Ford car shop manuals, including chassis, engine, electrical, body, and pre-delivery, maintenance, and lubrication manuals, which, in and of themselves, are of value.  The original owner ordered these manuals from Ford Motor Company in 1977, and these manuals are still even in the original box from the printer from which they were mailed in 1977!  Also included are some NOS items, such as air and oil filters.
