Classic Car Facts

There are customs, and then there are customs—ones that have that “wow” factor—a seamless blend of Detroit engineering and unbridled creativity and imagination.  One such custom that strikes the perfect balance is this stunning 1935 Oldsmobile Convertible Roadster.

Talk about eye appeal!  Finished in Bright Aqua Metallic with a contrasting Black Hartz convertible top, this Roadster’s finish and brightwork have a mirror-like finish.  Its front end has been fitted with the sheet metal of a 1937 Chevrolet after countless hours of professional working.  The hood has been narrowed six inches to accommodate the cowl, and can be opened from either side.  Its running boards have also been smoothed and lengthened.  You’ll also appreciate its suicide doors—a one year only feature—which are power operated.  Its rumble seat area has been converted into a large electronically operated trunk area—perfect for stowing items for those long summer cruises and road trips.  Other unique touches include a rolled rear pan, flush mounted Juliano’s taillights, and a recessed license plate.  A custom-made grille and Billet Specialties wheels complete the look.

The interior of this Oldsmobile is equally impressive, featuring bucket seats in Teal leather and a sporty center console.  The dashboard was custom made, and houses a full complement of VDO gauges that will keep you informed about what’s going on under the hood.  The seating areas, dashboard, carpeting, and custom interior door panels are all in excellent condition.  The Pioneer AM/FM/CD player is neatly mounted under the dashboard for easy access.  You’ll also appreciate this car’s power windows and ice cold Vintage Air conditioning.

Under the hood you will find a 1995 Chevy 350 CID V-8 crate motor mated to a TH350 automatic transmission.  Generating an impressive 300 horsepower, this looker is no slouch on the road!  But no worries, its front power disc brakes and power steering will keep you firmly in control on those twisty two lanes.  Other modifications and performance enhancements include the following:

  • Stock frame modified with ’80 Malibu front clip & Gabriel shocks
  • ’78 Malibu rear end with Posies springs & Gabriel shocks
  • Boxed rails
  • Electric cooling fan
  • Chromed alternator
  • HEI ignition
  • Demon 750 carburetor
  • Sanderson headers
  • HPC coated dual exhaust

Having just 27,000 miles since built, this convertible runs and drives as well as it looks.

A multiple award winner, this Oldsmobile was featured in the June 2000 issue of Street Rodder magazine.  Photo albums documenting the build will be included with sale.  With only 910 Oldsmobile convertibles made in 1935, this rare model generates plenty of attention.

If an eye-popping custom that is ready to go is what you desire, this 1935 Oldsmobile convertible is the car for you!
