Classic Car Facts

If you’re looking for a car that combines the elegance of yesterday and the power and convenience of today, look no further than this beautiful 1938 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Sedan.  Featuring a rebuilt SBC 355 CID engine, automatic overdrive transmission and ice-cold air conditioning, this Chevy will get you to those summer car shows in comfort and style.

Finished in Deep Green Metallic and Pewter with hand-painted pin striping, this car’s finish has a beautiful luster that will beckon you closer.  The rich two-tone color combination is echoed in the custom Green and Gray interior, which is also in excellent condition.  The interior door panels, dashboard, seating areas and headliner all show extremely well.  You will also appreciate this car’s tilt steering wheel and Pioneer AM/FM stereo.

Mechanicals did not go unnoticed at the expense of looks on this car.  Under the hood you will find a rebuilt SBC 355 CID V-8 mated to a rebuilt 700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive.  The engine was rebuilt approximately 27,000 miles ago with an RV cam, affording additional power.  In addition, this Master Deluxe features a 1956 Chevy rear-end with an open drive line.  Other mechanical upgrades include the following:

  • Mustang II front suspension
  • Power front disc brakes
  • Power steering
  • Transmission cooler
  • 4-barrel carburetor
  • Rear leaf spring suspension with air bag assist
  • Dual exhaust
  • Electronic ignition

Best of all, this car runs and drives as well as it looks.

With the exception of the rear fiberglass fenders, the car is all steel.  In addition, the front end has been modified to tilt forward, which aids access to the engine compartment.

One item of note is that the speedometer and odometer are not accurate.  In addition, only the driver’s side windshield wiper currently functions.  Minor imperfections in the finish and brightwork do not detract from the overall appearance of this car.

Please note that this car is titled as a 1975 Chevrolet Master (based on the original build year) and is located in Colman, South Dakota.

If a cruiser with plenty of eye appeal and the advantages of a modern powertrain is what you desire, don’t let this 1938 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Sedan pass you by!
