Eye-catching former race car … 1967 Corvette 427 CID V-8 with matching Muncie 4 speed … Dual quads … Dual exhaust … Leather interior …

Fans of nostalgia drag racing will appreciate this 1940 Oldsmobile 5-window coupe.   Powered by a 1967 Corvette 427 and matching Muncie 4-speed drivetrain, this dragster has two four-barrel Edelbrock 600 carburetors and offers an impressive 435 horsepower.  Also featuring a 3.42 rear end from a 1969 Dodge Charger, a Barracuda rear suspension and an updated stock front suspension, this car wants to be turned loose!  Other mechanical and performance features include the following:

  • Power front disk brakes
  • 15 gallon fuel tank
  • Electric fuel pump
  • Heavy duty radiator with electric fan
  • Summit hot start solenoid kit
  • HEI ignition
  • Roll bar
  • Weld Racing wheels
  • New tires
  • Dual exhaust
  • Hood scoop

You will also appreciate this car’s comfort and convenience items include a leather interiorAM/FM stereo with CD player, and power windows.

The car benefits from newer paint in an eye-catching custom color scheme, but like most dragsters with “character,” has its share of slight runs, bubbles, touch-ups and other imperfections upon close examination.  The chrome is also of driver quality with minor imperfections.  A few other items of note are that the car does not have heat, the clock does not work, the speedometer is inaccurate, and the power windows operate slowly.  There is also a crack in the driver’s side window.  The car currently needs a new flywheel installed.  Total mileage is unknown.

Last raced about 20 years ago, this car was a “barn find” in Geneva, Ohio.  Since his acquisition about three years ago, the most recent owner undertook its mechanical and cosmetic updating, and has found it to be very reliable and enjoyable on the highway and back roads alike.

Will selll powertrain and body separately if desired.  Please inquire.

If an excellent running and driving dragster with plenty of nostalgic flair is what you desire, this is the car for you!
