Classic Car Facts

Get behind the wheel and enjoy cruising in this gorgeous 1950 Chrysler Royal Club CoupeOne of only 5,900 produced, this rare Chrysler will carry you in comfort and style.

Finished in Racine Blue with a coordinating Gray stripe broadcloth interior, this car’s newer finish has a nice luster.  Its finish is further accentuated by an abundance of chrome and brightwork that that gives it a timeless appeal.  Virtually all of the exterior chrome on this car has been replated, and it shows beautifully.  The interior is also in very good condition, including more recently reupholstered seats in original style fabrics.  The steering wheel is in remarkable condition, as is the rest of this Chrysler’s impressive chrome-adorned instrument panel.  Other features you’ll appreciate are its electric windshield wipers, heater and defroster, AM radio, turn signals, and rear back-up lights.

Under the hood is a recently rebuilt 251 CID L-head inline six, which is mated to a recently resealed fluid drive Presto-Matic semi-automatic transmission.  Other recent mechanical updates include the following:

  • New front and rear springs
  • New kingpins and bushings
  • Drive shaft balanced
  • New master cylinder
  • Hydraulic brake system rebuilt
  • Newer battery
  • Newer tires (1,500 miles)
  • New gas tank sending unit
  • Re-cored radiator

Driven on long-distance trips, this classic runs and drives as well as it looks.

A few items of note are that minor imperfections in the finish do not detract from the overall appearance of the car.  In addition, there is slight delamination of the vent windows.  The horn also needs to be reconnected in the steering wheel, and the clock is not currently functioning.  The exterior spot light also needs a retaining ring.  The odometer shows 75,600 miles, but total mileage is unknown. All service records for recent work will be provided to the next owner of this car.

If a rare cruiser that you can get in and enjoy is what you desire, this 1950 Chrysler Royal Club Coupe is for you!
