From 1947 to 1955, Chevrolet trucks were first in sales in the United States, and it was not without reason.  Part of Chevrolet’s “Advanced Design” series, they represented the first major redesign after World War II.  Young American soldiers were returning home eager to get back to work, and the new Chevrolet trucks were just the thing to help them do it.

This beautiful 1955 Chevrolet 3100 ½ ton pickup benefits from a body-off restoration that was completed in Fall of 2015.  Completely stock in appearance, its India Ivory finish has a period look that will catch your eye.  Adding to its fresh appearance are new front and rear bumpers and new emblems.  In addition, with the exception of the rear window, all glass has been replaced.  A solid oak bed and a new set of Coker whitewall tires complete the look.

The interior features a comfortable bench seat that has been recently recovered in gray vinyl.  Its white and silver interior door panels provide an attractive contrast. The interior also benefits from new gray carpeting.  The additional of modern seat belts and new two-speed electric windshield wipers (on the rare occasion that you get caught in a sprinkle) will keep you safe on trips to your local car show or ice cream parlor.  Its working heater will keep you warm on chilly Spring and Fall days.

Under the hood you will find a 235 CID inline 6 cylinder engine that is mated to a 3-speed manual transmission.  The powertrain runs and drives strong.  The truck benefits from the following mechanical updates:
