Classic Car Facts

54,000 original miles … Gorgeous Tropical Turquoise and India Ivory exterior … Matching Turquoise and Black interior … 283 CI V8 … Multiple show winner …

The 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air has long represented perhaps the most iconic classic car from the 1950s.  From its chromed fins to its gold anodized grille, it is the car that everyone recognizes … and everyone wants.

The pride of owning such a quintessential American classic can be yours with this low mileage 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air hardtop coupe.  Finished in beautiful Tropical Turquoise and India Ivory, it is easy to see why this color combination was such a popular choice among buyers in 1957.  The interior is finished in Turquoise and Black, which handsomely coordinates with the exterior finish.  Powered by its original 2 barrel carbureted 283 cubic inch V8 and Power Glide automatic transmission, this car runs and drives as well as it looks, having traveled under 54,000 miles in its 53 year life!  With the exception of a professional high quality repaint in its original colors, this rust-free car is an excellent example of preservation, not restoration.

In addition to the features that came standard on this car, it is well equipped with the following optional items:

  • 283 cubic inch V8
  • Power Glide automatic transmission
  • Wheel skirts
  • Whitewall tires

Over the years, this car has won numerous trophies and awards, and it is easy to see why.  Its laser straight paint has a brilliant luster and is free of chips and scratches.  Additionally, this car’s chrome and other bright work are of show caliber and are free of any pitting or other signs of age.  Similarly, the interior, including seats, steering wheel, dashboard, carpeting, floor mats, and headliner are virtually free of any wear, and show extremely well.  Similarly, the engine compartment, trunk, and undercarriage all have a neat and clean appearance.  The car’s trophies and awards will be provided to the next owner.

Also included with sale are the following spare parts:

  • 4 BF Goodrich 4 Ply Polyester tires matching the spare tire
  • 2 spare hub caps and spinners
  • 1 steel wheel and tire
  • 1 generator
  • 1 headlight
  • 1 front bumper guard
  • 2 rear tail lamp bulbs

Additionally, a full set of 1957 Owner’s and Shop manuals will be provided with sale including the following:

  • 1957 Guide to Your New Chevrolet
  • 1957 Chevrolet Passenger Car Shop Manual
  • Servicing the Rochester Four-Barrel Carburetor
  • Servicing the 1957 Chevrolet Power Assist Equipment
  • Servicing the Chevrolet Positraction Rear-Axle Equipment
  • Servicing the 1957 Chevrolet Electric Windshield Wiper
  • Chevrolet Body Adjustments

A few items of note are that the clock does not currently work.  In addition, there is some slight cracking on the driver’s door interior arm rest.  Additionally, there is some slight cracking of the paint on the passenger’s side rear fender just in front of the rear wheel skirt.  There is also a small area of paint wear that should be noted on the driver’s side rear fender fin just below the chrome.  These items do not diminish the overall appearance of the car.

The car was originally a California car, which accounts for its rust-free condition today.  In the mid 1970s, it was purchased and brought to Ohio, where it resided with one owner until 2005.  At that time, the most recent owner purchased it, and has enjoyed it for car shows and pleasure drives, having driven it under 4,000 miles over the last five years.  Under his ownership, the original transmission and carburetor were completely rebuilt and a dual exhaust system was added.  Additionally, the gas tank was taken down, cleaned and sealed, and the sending unit was replaced.  In addition, the car now sports four new Diamond Back white wall radial tires that enhance its ride.

This classic has always been kept indoors and not driven in the elements, ensuring that it will thrill for many years to come.  Its clear Ohio title properly reflects the car’s mileage as “Actual.”

Make today the day to begin the next chapter of this show winning 1957 Chevy’s history!
