Classic Car Facts

One Owner Last 47 Years!

“For men and women who treat driving as an art, the Thunderbird is an instrument that gives full range to their capabilities … The only question in Thunderbird-owning families is whether it’s ‘his’ or ‘hers.’”  These are the words with which Ford lured buyers to its showrooms in 1957 to see its beautifully restyled Thunderbird—a classic, even in its day.

This beautiful 1957 Ford Thunderbird is finished in Raven Black and features a signature porthole hardtop in White.  Its finish has a nice luster that is further accentuated by chrome and brightwork that is in excellent condition.  This beauty offers you a variety of motoring options—from open air, to its hardtop, to its White soft top—all distinctive and lovely in their own way.  Adding further distinction are its Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels.  One look is all you’ll need to convince you of this car’s status as an American icon.

This Thunderbird’s interior is equally striking, featuring a matching interior in Black and White vinyl.  All components, from the dashboard and instrumentation to the seating areas and carpeting are in very good condition.  You’ll also appreciate its updated AM/FM stereo cassette and speaker, but for lovers of pure originality, the original AM radio will also be included with sale.

Under the hood you will find an optional 312 CID V-8 mated to a Fordomatic Drive automatic transmission.  The engine and transmission were rebuilt approximately 4,000 miles ago.  This Thunderbird also features power steering and a stainless steel dual exhaust system.  It also benefits from Coker wide whitewall radial tires that are about four years old.

One item of note is that minor imperfections in the finish do not detract from the overall appearance of this car.    In addition, the clock is not currently working.  It could also benefit from new weatherstripping.  Included with sale is a car cover, a hardtop cradle for ease of storage, and a vinyl toneau cover which covers the dashboard and seating areas.  The owner’s manual and original rear wheel skirts will also be included with sale.

If a gorgeous early Thunderbird in a striking color combination is what you desire, this iconic 1957 is the one for you!
