Classic Car Facts

“For men and women who treat driving as an art, the Thunderbird is an instrument that gives full range to their capabilities … The only question in Thunderbird-owning families is whether it’s ‘his’ or ‘hers.’”  These are the words with which Ford lured buyers to its showrooms in 1957 to see its beautiful Thunderbird—a classic, even in its day.

This gorgeous 1957 Ford Thunderbird is finished in Coral Sand and features a White convertible top.  Its finish has a nice luster that is further accentuated by chrome and brightwork that is in excellent condition, having benefited from recently re-chromed bumpers.  Adding further distinction are its chrome-accented hood scoop and Coker wide whitewalls.  One look is all you’ll need to convince you of this car’s status as an American icon.

This Thunderbird’s interior is equally striking, featuring a contrasting interior with White vinyl seating areas and Black carpeting.  You’ll also appreciate its full array of Sunpro auxiliary gauges, which will keep you informed about what’s going on under the hood.

Powered by an optional 312 CID V-8 and Fordomatic Drive automatic transmission, this T-Bird has plenty of get-up-and-go.  The engine and transmission were rebuilt approximately 2,000 miles ago.  Its optional power steering and power front disc brakes will have you firmly in control at the helm.  Other recent mechanical updates include the following:

  • Fuel tank
  • Dual master cylinder
  • Dual exhaust
  • Rebuilt power steering pump
  • Rear shock absorbers
  • Inner & outer tie rods
  • Battery

One item of note is that imperfections in the finish do not detract from the overall appearance of this car.    In addition, the clock, radio, speedometer, and windshield wipers are not currently working.  A newer white soft top has been fitted, but needs further finishing.

If a gorgeous early Thunderbird in a striking color combination is what you desire, this iconic 1957 is the one for you!
