Classic Car Facts

“For men and women who treat driving as an art, the Thunderbird is an instrument that gives full range to their capabilities … The only question in Thunderbird-owning families is whether it’s ‘his’ or ‘hers.’”  These are the words with which Ford lured buyers to its showrooms in 1957 to see its beautifully restyled Thunderbird—a classic, even in its day.

This stunning 1957 Ford Thunderbird is finished in Burgundy Metallic and has a gorgeous finish.  Originally white, this car was media blasted down to bare metal prior to being repainted.  Its finish has a beautiful luster that is further accentuated by chrome and brightwork that is in excellent condition.  This beauty offers you a variety of motoring options—from open air, to its new Tan colored soft top, to its matching Burgundy Metallic port hole hard top—each one distinctive and lovely in its own way.  One look is all you’ll need to convince you of this car’s status as an American icon.

This Thunderbird’s interior is equally striking, featuring a new interior in Black and White vinyl.  All components, from the dashboard and instrumentation to the seating areas and carpeting are in excellent condition.  You’ll also appreciate the convenience of power steering, power brakes, and an AM/FM stereo radio with cassette.

Under the hood you will find a neatly detailed 312 CID V-8 mated to a Fordomatic Drive automatic transmission.  This Thunderbird benefits from newer shocks and front suspension components and an electric fuel pump to make even cold starts effortless.  The heads have also been redone to accommodate unleaded fuel.  You’ll also appreciate its stainless steel dual exhaust systemShowing just 28,000 miles, the car runs and drives as well as it looks.

One item of note is that minor imperfections in the finish do not detract from the overall appearance of this car.  The original owner’s manual will also be included with sale.

Previously a Western car, this Thunderbird has received the best of care.  Always stored indoors under cover and only driven periodically in the summer, this Thunderbird will delight for years to come.

If a gorgeous early Thunderbird in a striking color combination is what you desire, this iconic 1957 is the one for you!
