Classic Car Facts

The 1959 and 1960 Cadillacs are, perhaps, one of the most instantly recognizable cars of the period.  With their low, sweeping stance, rocket-like curves, and soaring tailfins, they are, without question, an American icon.  If this type of sophisticated space-age styling appeals to you, you will love this gorgeous 1960 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible.

Refinished in its original Beaumont Beige with a matching Beige convertible top and hard parade boot, this car’s finish has a beautiful luster.  Its voluptuous curves are further accentuated by chrome and brightwork that are in excellent condition.  Chrome wire wheels and wide white wall tires provide additional distinction.

The interior of this gorgeous Cadillac is equally pleasing, featuring luxuriously tufted seating areas finished in rich Saddle.  Chrome accents and handsome instrumentation lend further distinction to its commanding dashboard.  You’ll also appreciate the convenience of its power convertible top, power windows, power seat, power antenna and original AM radio.

Powered by a 390 cubic inch V8 and 4-speed automatic transmission, this powertrain generates an impressive 325 horsepower and 430 ft-lb of torquePower steering and power brakes will have you firmly in control at the helm.  Its smooth and powerful performance, combined with its distinctive looks, is testament to what made these Cadillacs so popular, both yesterday and today.  Benefiting from a rebuild of its original engine with hardened valve seals, the following additional mechanical work was done at the time of restoration:

  • Water pump & hoses
  • Heavy-duty radiator core
  • New U-joints
  • Rebuilt brake system
  • New carburetor
  • New fuel pump
  • Reconditioned fuel tank & straps
  • New convertible top hydraulics

Having just 68,600 original miles, this beauty runs beautifully.

Originally a California black plate car, its original owner took delivery from J.J. Jacobs Cadillac Co. of Sacramento, California on July 20, 1960.  Included with sale is the original Owner Protection Policy booklet and California black plate.  It is the recipient of dozens of trophies and awards, and was the cover feature of an article in Cruisin’ Times Magazine’s September 2014 issue.  It has been owned and enjoyed by its most recent owner since 2013.

If an iconic space-age convertible is what you desire, this gorgeous 1960 Series 62 is the one for you!
