Classic Car Facts

There is something very alluring about Corvettes.  They have long since captivated the imaginations of generations of car enthusiasts.  If you didn’t have one, you wanted one, and if you were lucky enough to own one, you cherished it.

One such “cherished” one is this stunning 1961 Corvette—a car enjoyed by its most recent owners since 1979.  Having benefited from a complete frame-off restoration, this eye catcher has been extensively shown, obtaining prestigious Bloomington Gold certification and numerous NCRS Top Flight Awards.  The Bloomington Gold certification is one of the highest awards conveyed upon a Corvette, and is only awarded to a Corvette that “on the basis of its originality and condition, has been judged to appear within 95 – 100% of ‘Typical Factory Production.’”  This car is also the recipient of an Eckler’s First Place Concours Award Certificate.

Finished in Honduras Maroon with optional Ermine White coves, this Corvette’s finish has a beautiful luster that is further accentuated by its chrome and brightwork that have a mirror-like reflection.  1961 was the last year that contrasting color coves were available on first-generation Corvettes, providing further distinction.  You’ll also appreciate its White soft top and optional body-colored hard top—affording you the option of enclosed or open-air motoring.

The interior of this Corvette is equally impressive, featuring sporty bucket seats finished in Medium Fawn vinyl.  Its full complement of gauges shows beautifully.  You’ll also appreciate its optional heater, Wonder Bar AM radio and clock.  All instrumentation works as it should.

Under the hood you will find a numbers-matching powertrain consisting of a 230 horsepower 283 CID V-8 mated to a 3-speed manual transmission.  No slouch on the road, this Corvette moves!  Having just 3,500 miles since the engine and transmission were rebuilt during its complete mechanical and cosmetic restoration, this car runs and drives as well as it looks.  It also benefits from a rebuilt front end, fuel pump, and clutch.

Regularly enjoyed on nice days, this car has received the best of care, properly stored in a heated garage when not in use.  In addition to the matching hardtop, also included with sale are the owner’s manual and related paperwork, window sticker reproduction, original key, and restoration and maintenance records.

If a stunning first-generation Corvette with all the right certifications is what you desire, this is the car for you!
