Classic Car Facts

Time capsule … Midnight Mist metallic … Gorgeous original interior … 394 CID V-8 … Power brakes … Ice cold factory air conditioning …

There is something very “American” about the full size sedans offered by General Motors in the early to mid-1960s.  They seem to perfectly embody the virtues of stylishness, roominess, and practicality.  One such model was Oldsmobile’s stylish 1963 Super 88 Celebrity sedan, which provided growing families with superior comfort and reliability.

Finished in its original color of Midnight Mist metallic with a coordinating all original blue interior, this beautiful Super 88 is a virtual time capsule.  Powered by its original Skyrocket 394 CID V-8, and mated to its original Hydra-matic drive automatic transmission, this car offers an impressive 330 HP and 440 lb.-ft. of torque.  Also featuring very rare ice cold factory air conditioning, this car was made for highway cruising.

You will also appreciate this car’s level of optional equipment, including the following:

  • Air conditioning
  • Power brakes
  • Posi-trac rear end
  • Clock
  • Interior map light
  • Upgraded extra-cost interior
  • Deluxe radio
  • Front and rear speakers

An 8-track player and auxiliary temperature and oil gauges will add to your cruising comfort.  All options work as they should, with the exception of the clock.

As is evident from its original interior, this car was well cared for through the years.  The interior door panels, seats, steering wheel, dashboard, and headliner are virtually free of wear.  Similarly, the exterior stainless steel bright work is in excellent condition, although the paint, glass, and rear bumper do exhibit some “patina.”

This car was originally sold from Billion Motors of Sioux Falls, South Dakota in November 1963, and has had only two owners.  The most recent owner has lovingly cared for and enjoyed this car over the past four years, having driven it approximately 18,000 miles in the summers, including two problem-free trips from Ohio to Florida.  More recent mechanical updates include a brake system overhaul with new master cylinder, rear-end service, rear main seal replacement, rebuilt carburetor, new shock absorbers, newer tires, and full tune-up.  Now having approximately 84,000 miles, this car will likely continue to give reliable and enjoyable service for many years to come.

Also included with sale is the original sales brochure and sales paperwork, further enhancing the ownership experience of this beautiful classic.

If an authentically American, reliable highway cruiser is what you desire, this Super 88 is for you.
