Classic Car Facts

What is it about the second generation of Corvette Stingrays that make them so enticing?  Is it their sculpted lines?  Their rakish, low stance?  The growl of their aggressive powerplants?  Perhaps, most simply, it is their ability to make the admirer’s heart skip a beat without even thinking.

If you’re looking for a second-generation Corvette that is ready to enjoy from day one, look no further than this gorgeous 1964 Corvette Stingray convertible.  Recently refinished in its original color of Satin Silver, it contrasting Red leather interior offers an original color combination that is both rare and coveted.  It also features a new Black convertible soft top and Satin Silver hardtop—offering you plenty of motoring options.  The finish has a beautiful luster that is further accentuated by its newly replated front and rear bumpers.  You’ll also appreciate its bolt on knock-off wheels and side pipes, which contribute to its gorgeous presentation.  Newer radial redline tires complete the look.

The interior of this Corvette is equally eye-catching, featuring new Red leather bucket seats and a sporty center console.  Its full complement of refaced factory gauges will keep you informed about what’s going on under the hood.  You’ll also appreciate its optional factory AM/FM radio and the convenience of its optional power windows—another rare feature.  All of these features work as they should—including the clock.

Under the hood you’ll find the rebuilt original 327 CID V-8 mated to the rebuilt original Powerglide automatic transmission. Performance enhancements include 2.02/160 heads, stainless valves, a mild cam, and a shift kit.  The front brakes have been converted to discs, but the original drum brakes and heads will be included with sale.  Its power steering and power brakes will have you firmly in control at the helm.  With just 46,300 original miles, this Corvette runs and drives as well as it looks.

Having just three owners, this Corvette was in the possession of the second owner from the late 1960s through 2011.  The third owner—who purchased it from his mother’s neighbor—undertook the complete body-on professional cosmetic and mechanical restoration of the car, which was completed in 2018.  In addition to its new base coat/clearcoat finish and new interior components, this car benefits from the following:

  • New front and rear suspension components
  • New dual master cylinder
  • New heater core
  • New thermostat
  • New fuel pump
  • New fuel lines
  • New side pipe dual exhaust
  • New hoses
  • New belts
  • New Pertronix Ignitor solid state ignition
  • Overhaul of AFB carburetor
  • Rebuild of starter

All restoration receipts will be included with sale.

If a eye-catching second generation Corvette that is ready to enjoy is what you desire, look no further than this gorgeous 1964 Stingray convertible!
