Looking for a cool ‘60s custom that will turn a lot of heads?  This 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 hardtop will have admirers saying “WOW.”

Finished in House of Kolor Lime Time Green with a custom blended White Pearl and metal flake top, this custom was featured in the March 2007 issue of Rod & Custom magazine (http://www.rodandcustommagazine.com/featuredvehicles/0703rc_1964_ford_galaxie/viewall.html).  Far from being just a stock Galaxie 500 with custom paint and shaved trim, this car features hundreds of hours of skillful custom metal fabrication and fitting, including the following:

  • Extended and molded ’52 – ’54 Ford headlight rings housing frenched headlights
  • Extension of leading edge of hood
  • Filled fuel door and relocation to trunk
  • ’52 – ’54 Ford taillight bezels housing ’03 T-Bird taillights
  • Custom fit tube grille
  • Extension of character line into rear quarter panels

The car’s exterior finishing was not done at the expense of the interior, which is equally stunning.  Featuring a custom White roll-and-tuck vinyl interior, the bucket seats and wrap-around rear bench seat were originally from a 1970 T-Bird.  In addition, the dashboard, which is finished in White and Lime Time Green, is pinstriped by Doctor Ru, providing the crowning touch.

Under the hood you will find a rebuilt stock 390 CID V-8 mated to a Cruise-o-Matic three-speed automatic transmission.  This car also features power brakes and power steering.  Mechanical and performance upgrades include the following:

  • Edelbrock four barrel carburetor
  • PerTronix ignition
  • Dual exhaust
  • ’75 Torino front disc brakes & spindles
  • Rebuilt front suspension components from Kanter Auto Products & Dennis Carpenter
  • Working and cold aftermarket air conditioning

This car’s 15” Supreme wheels are wrapped in new tires.  It also benefits from a recent tune-up and new battery.

A few items of note are that the clock is not working and the heater does not furnish hot air to the passenger compartment.  In addition, the carpeting exhibits some fading, and the remote door release is not currently working for the driver’s side door.  Minor imperfections in the paint do not detract from the overall appearance of this car.

This custom’s frame-on restoration and customization were completed in 2007.  Since completion, it has been driven approximately 12,000.  It has always received the best of care and has always been properly stored indoors.

Included with sale are a car cover and battery tender.

If an awesome looking ‘60s custom with the utmost attention to detail is what you desire, this 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 is for you.
