Original 289 CID V-8 with 4-speed manual … Hurst Competition Shifter … Rangoon Red … Dual exhaust … Performance upgrades …

Looking for a turn-key cruiser that packs plenty of punch?  This sporty 1965 Ford Falcon 2-Door Sedan with 289 and 4-speed manual transmission with Hurst Competition Plus shifter is just the ticket.

Finished in its original color of Rangoon Red and having received one repaint, this car was inspired by the handful of very rare Hi-Po Falcons turned out by Ford Motor Company of Canada Limited in 1965.  In fact, according to a January 2002 article in Musclecar Review magazine, only seven such Hi-Po Falcons were produced for the 1965 model year, of which three were 2-door sedans.

Powered by its original 289 CID V-8 and original factory Borg-Warner 4-speed manual transmission, this car has approximately 97,000 original miles and benefits from several performance upgrades, including the following:

  • Early 351 Windsor heads
  • COMP cam (.509/.512 lift and 268/280 duration)
  • Rhodes lifters
  • COMP springs and pushrods
  • Holley high volume mechanical fuel pump
  • 8 qt. Milodon Deep sump oil pan & high volume oil pump
  • Holley Street Dominator intake manifold
  • Edelbrock 600 CFM carburetor with mechanical secondaries
  • Flowmaster custom 2 ½” exhaust
  • 1 ½” custom headers
  • Mallory Unilite distributor
  • Crane coil
  • MSD 8.5 mm wires
  • MSD 6AL box
  • Custom 2-row aluminum radiator with 12” pusher fan
  •  H-D Cool It water pump
  • March custom aluminum pulleys
  • RAM Heavy Duty 10.5” clutch kit
  • 8” rear end with new 3.55 Detroit locker
  • COMP drag shocks
  • COMP roll bar
  • Custom frame connectors
  • Southside Machine traction bars
  • Heavy duty front stabilizer bar
  • Rear air shocks
  • Custom Wilwood 11” drilled & slotted disk brakes with braided lines
  • Heavy duty Powermaster starter
  • Chrome alternator

You will also appreciate the interior upgrades in this car, including leather bucket seats, custom matching vinyl rear seat, new interior door panels, roll bar, Sony AM/FM stereo and CD player with Pioneer 6”x9” triaxial rear and front kick panel speakers, and AutoMeter Pro-Comp auxiliary gauges.  It also features a solid wood Grant steering wheel, but the original steering wheel will be included with sale.  Also included are a ram induction, original hood, rear-end, and owner’s manual.

A few items of note are that the original temperature gauge does not currently work, but the auxiliary temperature gauge works as it should.  In addition, the paint and bright work exhibit minor imperfections that do not detract from the overall appearance of the car.

If a “get in and go” car with plenty of “get up” is what you desire,
