Ford’s 1965 Galaxie lineup boasted brand new exterior styling and ride and handling enhancements that proved popular with American consumers.  With 6 series and 17 model designations, offerings in this full-size segment ranged from practical station wagons to sporty drop-tops.  Of the latter variety was the rakish Galaxie 500 convertible.

Finished in Wimbledon White, this fully restored 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible features a matching White convertible top and a contrasting Red vinyl interior.  Its newer finish has a beautiful luster, as does its chrome and exterior brightwork.  Its custom chrome wheels add the finishing touch.  The interior tells a similar story, with interior door panels, dashboard, seats, and carpeting showing only the most minimal wear.  In addition, all door and trunk seals have been more recently replaced.

Powered by its original 289 CID V-8 and Cruise-o-matic three speed automatic transmission, this car runs and drives as well as it looks.  Now having under 84,000 original miles, the engine was rebuilt approximately 6,000 miles ago.  Its power steeringpower convertible top, and newer dual exhaust will add to your driving pleasure, as will its hidden stereo system with trunk-mounted 10-disc CD changer.  Everything works as it should, including its recently rebuilt clock.

One item of note is that there is a small chip on the passenger’s side of the windshield that has been sealed.  In addition, there is a crack in the driver’s side mirror.  The paint exhibits minor imperfections that do not detract from the overall appearance of the car.

Originally an Alabama car, this convertible benefited from a frame-on restoration approximately 15 years ago.  Since that time, it has been driven about 12,000 miles as a summer pleasure car.  The most recent owner has owned and enjoyed this car for the past 12 years.  Under his ownership, this classic has received the best of care and has always been properly stored indoors.

Included with sale are a car cover and battery tender.

If a great looking and fully restored mid-60s cruiser is what you desire, this 1965 Ford Galaxie convertible is just the car for you.
