Classic Car Facts

Although there have been several generations of Mustangs since the first generation, it will always be those that were produced from 1964 – 1966 that are most remembered.  And it was not without reason that these Mustangs have become an American icon—with their sporty styling and abundant options, they were the right car for the right time for a whole generation of Americans, and their popular appeal endures to this day.

This stunning 1965 Mustang 2+2 Fastback is finished in Raven Black and has a laser straight finish.  Equally brilliant and lustrous is its chrome and brightwork, all of which is in excellent condition.  You’ll also appreciate the features of its GT Equipment Group, including dual straight through exhaust with flared chrome tailpipe extensions, 4-inch fog lamps, “GT” fender badges, bright metal hood accent molding, and contrasting red GT triple stripes. 15-inch styled steel wheels and red band sidewall tires provide additional pop.

The interior also offers plenty of visual impact; its Red vinyl bucket seats contrasting beautifully with its Raven Black exterior.  The interior is in like new condition, including the seating areas, interior door panels, dashboard, and headliner.  The GT Equipment Group also provides some “goodies” in the interior of this car, including a five-dial instrument cluster set in a background of black leather-grained vinyl.  You’ll also appreciate its optional Rally Pac, which includes a tachometer and clock.  Not only do all of the gauges and instrumentation work perfectly, but all of the lenses are crystal clear.

Under the hood you will find a neatly detailed engine compartment housing a 289 CID V-8 with a mild build mated to a T5 5-speed manual transmission.  This Mustang also features a Holley 600 CFM 4-barrel carburetor and electronic ignition.  Its 3” headers and dual exhaust will reward you with a satisfying rumble.  Other mechanical upgrades include an export brace, a Monte Carlo bar, GT valve covers, and front and rear Wilwood disc brakes. All hoses, belts, and fuel and brake lines are new.

The undercarriage of this Mustang is equally impressive, featuring correct Red Oxide paint.  Attention to detail in this car’s restoration has enabled it to win several awards, among those the following:

  • 2013 Best in Class Sun City Hilton Head, Bluffton, SC
  • 2014 Gold Award Mustang Club of America National Show, Savannah, GA
  • 2016 Second Place Buckeye Stangs Summit Racing Tallmadge, OH

Judging sheets from the 2014 Mustang Club of America National Show indicating a perfect score will be provided to the next owner of this gorgeous car, as will a custom fitted car cover.

Having just under 65,000 original miles, this Mustang has been driven only 1,400 miles since its complete restoration and runs and drives like new.  Properly stored in a heated building, it has never seen rain nor been driven on interstates since restored, and is devoid of any paint dings or chips.

If you’re looking for a show winning fastback Mustang that is ready to enjoy, this is the pony you’ll want to put in your stall today!
