Classic Car Facts

Gulfstream Aqua California car … White vinyl top … 289 CID V-8 … Factory A/C … Full cosmetic restoration … Mechanical updates … Maintenance records …

The Ford Mustang was one of the most popular cars produced in the 1960s, and it was not without reason.  Among its virtues were sporty styling, excellent performance, and a comfortable ride.  All of these things, combined with an attractive price, proved just the ticket with a whole generation of American car buyers.  Almost 50 years after its introduction, the iconic Mustang’s pull is just as strong.

This beautiful 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe is finished in its original color of Gulfstream Aqua which contrasts nicely with its newer White vinyl top.  Its newer finish is further accentuated by new bumpers with a mirror-like finish.  GT wheels and newer tires complete the package.

The interior is equally pleasing, with newer vinyl seats finished in complementing Aqua.  The dashboard, door panels, carpeting and headliner are also in excellent condition.  Although not currently hooked up, this car features factory air conditioning.  You will also appreciate its power steering and power brakes, providing an even more satisfying driving experience.  A Blaupunkt AM/FM stereo with CD player has been installed, but the original radio and trim bezel will be included with sale.

Under the hood is a 289 CID V-8 with a 2 barrel carburetor mated to its original SelectShift Cruise-O-Matic three speed automatic transmission.  The car has approximately 142,000 miles and the engine has approximately 108,000 miles.  Its original 289 CID engine will also be included with sale if desired.  Always well maintained, this car runs and drives as well as it looks.

Originally a California car, this car was acquired by the most recent owner in 1996.  After acquisition, a complete cosmetic restoration was undertaken, including the following:

  • Professional repaint in original color
  • New bumpers
  • New interior
  • New vinyl top
  • Engine detailing

Mechanical updates include rebuilding of the carburetor to Concours standards by Pony Carburetors, Inc., rebuilding of the distributor, new brakes, new suspension, and new dual exhaust.  A binder containing photographs documenting the car’s restoration and related receipts will be included with sale.  Photocopies of the last two titles and all maintenance records will also be provided to the next owner.  This beautiful Mustang has only seen light pleasure use since being restored, and has always been properly maintained and stored indoors.

If a ready to enjoy Mustang at a great price is what you desire, this is the car for you!
