Classic Car Facts

Chevrolet’s El Camino has long been a popular model with collectors.  Almost three decades since last produced, this model combined the practicality of a pickup with the comfort of a passenger car, and it is for this reason that the appeal of “hybrids” such as this stunning 1969 Chevrolet El Camino endure to this day.

Finished in Candy Apple Red, this fully restored Southern looker has custom painted graphics on the hood and tailgate.  Its newer base coat/clear coat finish has a beautiful luster.  The chrome and brightwork on this car are also in excellent condition.  You’ll also appreciate this car’s Centerline wheels, which give it additional pop.  Lending further distinction is its custom-fitted Confederate flag tonneau cover which fits neatly into its bed.

The newer interior is in excellent condition, and features bucket seats finished in Black vinyl.  The seats have been recovered in OEM materials and the underlying foam has been replaced.  A Summit 8,000 RPM tachometer with a shift light and a full complement of Sunpro auxiliary gauges will keep you informed about what’s going on under the hood.  You’ll also appreciate its Clarion CD player and rear speakers for playing your favorite tunes this summer, as well as its power windows.

Under the hood you’ll find a heavily chromed 350 CID V-8 mated to a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission.  The engine is 1973 vintage, and was completely rebuilt with an Edelbrock Power Package featuring an upgraded cam, intake manifold, and heads.  Other upgrades include the following:

  • New fuel tank
  • New battery
  • High energy ignition
  • New radiator
  • New clutch
  • New drive shaft
  • New U-joints
  • New lower trailing arms
  • Ford 9” posi-rear-end with 3.25 gears
  • Moser Engineering rear-end housing
  • Newer tires
  • Headers
  • Dual exhaust
  • Power disc brakes
  • Power steering

Best of all, this El Camino runs and drives as well as it looks.

Although badged as an SS 396, this El Camino is not a true SS 396 from the factory.

A large folder filled with receipts from this El Camino’s restoration will be provided to the next owner of this vehicle.

If a stunning El Camino that is ready to enjoy is what you desire, this is the car for you!
