Desirable SS Convertible in Fathom Blue … 454 CID V-8 … Muncie 4 speed … Cowl Induction … Factory A/C … Power windows … Power door locks …

There’s nothing quite as satisfying as hearing the throaty rumble of an early 1970s muscle car—especially when it’s coming from engine of a 1970 Chevelle SS convertible.

Win Best of Show honors with this stunning frame-off restored Fathom Blue Chevelle SS.  This exceptional convertible is equipped with all the performance equipment you’ve always wanted, including a 454 CID V-8 with Cowl Induction, a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, and positraction.  This classic is also fully equipped with several comfort and convenience options, including power steering, power brakes, power convertible top, power windows, power door locks, and factory air conditioning.  A newer AM/FM stereo with cassette player has been installed, but the original factory radio will also be provided with sale.

Prior to its recently completed two year frame-off restoration, this car was a barn find.  It began its life as a Black Cherry non-SS convertible with factory air conditioning and a 350 CID V-8 and automatic transmission.  As part of its restoration, the engine was replaced with a brand new 454 CID crate engine that now has approximately 2,500 miles.  In addition, its automatic transmission was replaced with a Muncie 4- speed manual transmission.  Its brake and gas lines have been upgraded with stainless steel, as has its dual exhaust system.  It also benefits from a brand new 4 barrel carburetor, intake, radiator, brakes and SS suspension components.  Additionally, this Chevelle’s master cylinder and air conditioning were rebuilt.

As part of this car’s restoration, its existing frame was replaced with a rust-free one from Arizona which was professionally blocked and painted.  In addition, its driver’s side door and front fender were replaced with rust-free Arizona parts.  The rear quarter panels were replaced with ones that were fabricated from the original GM dies.  A laser-straight application of year-correct Fathom Blue metallic paint was applied, resulting in a mirror-like luster.  All chrome and bright-work is equally brilliant.  Other cosmetic updates include a brand new convertible top with glass window, and Coker bias ply tires mounted on new rims.  Brand new hubs complete the package.

This Chevelle’s brand new interior is equally stunning and is without flaw.  From its seats, dashboard, center console and door panels to its carpeting and floor mats, everything appears as new.  All interior gauges have been rebuilt, and all power options work as they should, including the ice cold air conditioning.  No detail was overlooked in this Chevelle’s restoration—even all factory quality control markings are present on the undercarriage.  A photographic record and all paperwork from the restoration have been retained, and copies of these documents will be provided to the next owner.  The quality of this car’s restoration has not gone unnoticed; it has won honors at several shows, including 1st Place at the 2010 AACA Northern Chapter Car Show and a Best of Show award at the NOCC/ACES Northern Regional All-Chevelle Show.  If you’ve always wanted a new 1970 Chevelle SS convertible, this is it.

Make today the day begin enjoying this award-winning and desirable Chevelle SS.
