Iconic Mustang convertible … Eye-catching Yellow Exterior … Black convertible top and interior … Rebuilt 302 CID V-8 … Throaty dual exhaust … Rare factory A/C …

Is there any more satisfying driving experience than cruising down the road on a beautiful summer day with the top down?  What if it is in one of the most classic American icons of the muscle car era—a 1972 Ford Mustang convertible?

The experience can be yours with this beautifully restored example.  Finished in Bright Yellow with contrasting Black Mach I accent striping, this car’s color combination accentuates its aggressive appearance.  A contrasting black convertible top and interior and chrome rally wheels complete the package.

Under the hood is its original 2 barrel 302 CID V-8, which is mated to its original automatic transmission.  A Flowmaster dual exhaust system provides a satisfyingly throaty grumble, and its power steering and brakes make putting this car through its paces even more enjoyable.  The car runs and drives as well as it looks.  Comfort and convenience features include its original AM/FM radio, clock, tinted front windshield, power convertible top with a glass rear window, and extremely rare factory air conditioning.

This Mustang underwent a complete cosmetic and mechanical restoration approximately 6-7 years ago, and it still presents very well.  Its laser straight paint has a beautiful luster, and its newer convertible top is in excellent condition, aside from a one inch superficial tear near the driver’s door.  The power top functions smoothly and quickly both going down and coming up.  The transmission, body style, color, and engine all have matching factory numbers.   The chrome presents well, with some wear evident on the wheels and upper windshield trim.  The interior shows well too, with only minimal wear.  Its black dash board, console, seats, and interior door panels are free of cracks or shrinkage.  The carpeting is in equally good condition.  Now having approximately 114,000 original miles, the engine, transmission, and rear end were rebuilt at the time of restoration.

A few items of note are that there are a few minor paint chips on the door edges and wheel well edges that do not detract from the overall appearance of the car.  Additionally, the chrome interior trim at the top of the passenger side door has come loose and needs to be refastened.  In addition, the heater core element was removed and not replaced at the time of restoration.  The air conditioning works as it should and blows cold, but not ice cold.  Lastly, the interior dashboard lights function, but are dim.

The most recent owner has enjoyed this car for the last four years, having purchased it in North Carolina as a summer pleasure car.  It has been an enjoyable car and has always been properly stored indoors and has received annual maintenance.  A car cover will be included with sale.
