Stunning “boat-tail” Riviera … 60,000 original miles … Finished in Autumn Gold with coodinating Cream interior … Perfect Black vinyl top … 455 CID V-8 … Dual Exhaust …

In the early 1970s, Buick encouraged potential luxury car buyers to experience its Riviera firsthand:  “ … Drive a Riviera.  Come face to face with this singularly beautiful automobile on your own terms, on your own roads.  Experience personally the comfort, the quietness and the superlative performance of America’s No. 1 personal car.  From then on, Riviera will be your car!  … Riviera is for people who can’t wait for tomorrow.  So why wait?”

Just as they did when first introduced, the Rivieras of the early 1970s continue to draw quite a following from those of discerning taste with their distinctive “boat-tail” design.  This beautiful example is finished in lustrous Autumn Gold with a coordinating Cream interior.  It is further accentuated by a perfect black vinyl top and black pinstripes.  Best of all, this Riviera has under 60,000 original miles, and is all original with the exception of one high quality repaint in its original color.

The exterior of this classic is in beautiful condition—its finish exhibits a beautiful shine and has only minor imperfections that do not detract from the overall appearance of the car.  Highlighting this classic’s beautiful colors and lines is an abundance of quality chrome and bright-work this car wears like jewelry, all the way down to its rocker moldings and beautifully sculpted Buick Rally wheels.  All chrome and bright work is in very good condition, but some minor pitting around the tail lamps is evident.  The bumpers do not exhibit similar pitting.  Additionally, the chrome has worn thin in places on the wheels.   The vinyl top looks new, with no evidence of fading or drying.

Similarly, the interior is in excellent condition, and exhibits only minor wear.  There is a slight split on the bottom of the driver’s seat, however, matching NOS fabric will be provided with sale.  The headliner, dashboard, rear package shelf, and driver’s and passenger’s arm rests are all in excellent condition.  This Riviera’s light cream interior is particularly complementary with its Autumn Gold exterior.

This car is fully equipped with all the luxury and convenience features you would expect from Buick’s flagship model, including power windows, power door locks, 6-way power driver’s seat, air conditioning, speed alert, tilt steering wheel, bright door edge guards, and front lamp monitors.  All power options work as they should, with the exception of the air conditioning and clock.

This car runs and drives beautifully, powered by its original 250 horsepower four barrel carbureted  455 CID V-8 engine and 3-speed automatic transmission.  It also features a dual exhaust system, which, although relatively quiet, will likely need replacement in the future due to age.  The car rides on four brand new radial tires.

This gorgeous Riviera was originally purchased in 1973 for a lady’s 60th birthday present.  She enjoyed it for many years, eventually selling it to a Buick collector.  The most recent owner has enjoyed this car for the last 15 years, always properly maintaining and storing it, ensuring that it will delight the next owner for many years to come.  So as Buick Motor Division said 40 years ago, “ … why wait?”
