6,800 original miles … Factory power moonroof … Beautiful Maize Yellow exterior with coordinating crushed velour interior … Like new … All original …

6,800 ORIGINAL MILES!  This beautiful rust-free 1974 Lincoln Mark IV has only traveled 6,800 miles in its 36 year life!  Still sporting its original Michelin tires, this car is absolutely stunning.  Finished in beautiful Maize Yellow exterior with coordinating and rare optional gold crushed velour interior and gold Calvary Twill vinyl top, the car makes a statement.  This car also features a very expensive and rare optional factory power glass moonroof (a $777 option in 1974), which significantly increases the comfort and desirability of this classic.  As one would expect, the interior looks like the car was just driven off of the showroom floor, with its soft and comfortable crushed velour, quality wood appliqués, and stunning brightwork.  The exterior finish and chrome gleams as well, making this classic stand out from its peers!

Powered by a 220 horsepower 460 cubic inch 4 barrel carbureted V-8, this car runs and drives as well as it looks.  It is perfectly quiet and smooth, affording a luxurious and satisfying driving experience, long hallmarks upon which Lincoln has built its reputation of understated elegance and quality.

In addition to the luxury features that came standard on this car, including air conditioning, power windows, power locks, twin comfort lounge seats with 6-way power adjustment and Cartier clock, you will also appreciate the level of optional equipment with which this car is equipped, including the following features:

  • Power glass moonroof
  • Electric rear window defroster
  • Appearance Protection Group (including door edge guards and front and rear floor mats with carpet inserts)
  • Right hand remote control mirror
  • Dual exhaust
  • Media velour cloth
  • Tilt steering wheel
  • Power trunk lid release
  • Right-side remote control mirror
  • AM/FM Multiplex Radio with Stereo Tape

This rust-free car was undercoated when new, was always properly stored indoors and was never driven in winter, which accounts for its rust-free and beautiful condition today.  Even the undercarriage is virtually spotless, as the photographs attest.

A few items of note are that the air conditioning works, but does not blow cold.  Additionally, the driver’s and passenger’s front windows do not currently function, but the rear power windows and power moonroof function as they should.  The exterior of the car exhibits some minor pitting on the chrome grille near the bumper, the chrome trim below the headlamps, as well as on the trim surrounding the tail lamps and the trim that runs along the edge of the trunk lid, but this does not diminish the overall appearance of the car.  The chrome on the bumpers does not exhibit pitting.  In addition, there is a small door ding on the driver’s side door below the trim that could easily be removed through paintless dent removal.  This does not diminish the overall appearance of the car, and other than these items, the exterior and interior of the car are virtually without blemish.

This car was originally purchased from Broadvue Motors, Inc. in Middleburg Heights, Ohio by a couple in July 1974 for the wife’s use.  It was never driven in the winter, and was used primarily as a limited use “Sunday Driver,” accounting for its low mileage.  The wife passed away in 1979, and the car was not driven thereafter by her husband, as it was not his preferred type of car to drive.  The husband then gave the car to his son in 1985, at which time the car had only 6,514 miles.  Since 1985, the car has been driven under 300 miles, but was properly stored during this time and received the maintenance that it required.  More recent maintenance performed at Nick Mayer Lincoln-Mercury, Inc. included a new thermostat, radiator hoses, coolant flush, transmission fluid flush, oil change, fuel filter, repacking of wheel bearings, tune-up, brake cleaning and adjustment, and new exhaust system.  Although the car was originally equipped with a dual exhaust system, it was replaced with a single exhaust system at the dealer.

Make today the day to begin the next chapter of this rare optioned and low mileage car’s extraordinary history!
