12,100 ORIGINAL MILES—ONE OWNER!
“For those who seek a rare degree of comfort, a rich, enveloping sense of luxury and a feeling of confidence in fine engineering, there is one clear, uncompromising choice. 1978 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham.”
After the demise of the Imperial in 1975, the New Yorker became the flagship model of the Chrysler fleet, and would continue in this long, luxurious, and imposing form through the 1978 model year. New Yorkers would never again be this generous of proportion.
This stunning one-owner 1978 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham has just 12,100 original miles. Ordered brand new from Clare E. Wagner and Sons Chrysler of New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, this car served as the couple’s “special occasion” car and resided in New Wilmington its entire life. Having never seen rain or snow, it always received the best of care.
Finished in eye-catching Jasmine Yellow, this New Yorker’s finish has a beautiful luster that is further accentuated by chrome and brightwork that is in excellent condition. Lending further distinction are its coordinating Gold dual tape stripes and vinyl roof, which is in like-new condition. Concealed headlamps and Chrysler’s signature “waterfall” grille provide luxurious styling cues that are unmistakable. You’ll also appreciate its optional wide whitewall Firestone tires, which are original to the car.
The all-original interior of this car is equally sumptuous, featuring Gold Corinthian leather floating cushion seating areas that are in showroom condition. The leather is soft and supple and devoid of imperfections. Its front split bench seat features twin leather arm rests, and individually reclining driver and passenger seats. Rear-seat passengers will appreciate a folding center arm rest, rear reading lamps, and lavalier assist straps. The soft, thick Gold shag carpeting is also in like-new condition, as are all other areas of the interior. Standard and optional luxury and convenience features abound, including the following:
All power options work as they should with the exception of the air conditioning.
Under the hood you will find the original 400 CID V-8 mated to the original Torque-flite automatic transmission. This powerful, yet unobtrusive, powertrain is virtually silent from the interior of the car. Its highly-engineered torsion bar front suspension provides the best of both worlds—isolation from the harshness of the road, yet excellent stability and road sense. Its power steering and power brakes will have you firmly in control at the helm.
Included with sale are the original owner’s manuals and two sets of original Chrysler keys.
If one of the lowest mileage full-bodied Chryslers of stunning quality is what you desire, look no further than this gorgeous 1978 New Yorker Brougham.
