Classic Car Facts

Gorgeous and well maintained Florida car … Lustrous Cream exterior with coodinating Gold leather interior … Ice cold air conditioning …

Lincoln’s luxury liners were never as big and as comfortable as they were in 1979 … and likely never will be again.  Recapture this feeling of luxury and opulence with this beautiful 1979 Lincoln Town Car.  Finished in Cream with a matching vinyl half top and coordinating Gold leather interior, this well maintained Florida car is a presence on the road.

Powered by Lincoln’s largest available engine in 1979, a 400 CID V8, this car glides effortlessly down the highway with a silence and softness that Lincoln owners have long come to expect from their automobiles.  It is almost as if the car’s engine and transmission were designed to make one forget their existence.

In addition to the car’s luxury features that came standard on this car, you will appreciate its optional equipment, including the following items:

  • Glove soft leather interior
  • Autolamp delay
  • Automatic headlamp dimmer
  • Remote trunk lid release
  • Power vent windows
  • Power passenger’s seat
  • Carpeted floor mats
  • Illuminated entry
  • Cruise control
  • Opera windows
  • Wire wheel covers

All power options on this classic work as they should, with the exception of the passenger’s side power seat and the driver’s side rear power window (motor engages but does not move window).  All other power options, including power door locks, power antenna, remote trunk lid release, cruise control, and Cartier clock work as intended.  Even the air conditioning is ice cold!

The interior of the car is in excellent condition, with the leather seats, carpeting, headliner, and door panels showing virtually no wear.  The leather is soft and supple with no rips, tears, or stress marks of any kind.  Other than some slight wear on the wood appliqué on the steering wheel, the interior shows as virtually new.

The Cream exterior of the car has a high luster, although the car does have some minor door dings and chips that have been touched up over the years.  These imperfections are not noticeable from afar, but can be seen from a couple of feet away, most noticeably on the driver’s side doors.  The car benefits from a newer vinyl top that is in perfect condition and was added at a cost of approximately $1,200.  The car also has new brakes and newer tires that have virtually 100% tread life remaining.  Also of note is that the muffler and resonator are brand new.  In addition, there are some very minor bubbles in the paint on the driver’s side rear door on the lower corner that should be noted.  There is also some minor pitting on the chrome by the mirrors, but the rest of the chrome is in excellent condition, exhibiting a very nice shine.

This beautiful Lincoln was originally purchased from Vic Osman Lincoln-Mercury of Melbourne, FL.  Approximately 13 years ago, the car was brought to Ohio, and was professionally rustproofed at that time.  It has not been driven in the snow since coming to Ohio, accounting for its beautiful condition today.  Please note that the blackness on the inside bottom edges of the doors is not rust—it is professionally applied rustproofing (receipt for this work will be provided to the next owner of the car).  With only 89,000 original miles, given the care that this car has received, it will likely delight for many more years.

If a beautifully maintained, road ready 1970s Lincoln at a fantastic price is what you desire, this is the car for you.
