Classic Car Facts

If you’re looking for a modern custom with plenty eye-appeal and power to spare, look no further than this eye-catching 1981 Chevrolet Malibu Coupe.  Combining the comforts of today’s cars with a truly unique look, this custom is the one that will be getting the looks at those summer shows.

Finished in Bright Blue Metallic and featuring custom fish scale accents in shades of Charcoal, this looker’s base coat/clear coat finish has a beautiful luster that is further enhanced by its re-chromed bumpers and new grille.  A set of shiny Cragar chrome wheels provide additional pop, as do its bright-tipped dual exhaust tailpipes.  A new 2-inch raised hood and dual sport mirrors complete the look.

This coupe’s matching interior is equally sharp, featuring comfortable bucket seats and a handy center console.  A new headliner and carpeting lend a fresh appearance.  In addition, a full complement of factory gauges—including a tachometer—will keep you fully informed with every tap of the accelerator.  You’ll also enjoy its AM/FM stereo cassette and new rear speakers.

Under the hood you will find a heavily chromed engine compartment housing a powerful 350 CID V-8 mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission.  Power steering and power brakes provide additional creature comforts.  Other mechanical updates include the following:

  • Front and rear shocks
  • Ball joints
  • Posi rear-end
  • Heater core
  • Distributor
  • Starter and alternator
  • Front disc and rear drum brakes
  • Brakes lines
  • Fuel lines
  • Belts and hoses
  • Holley Performance 4-barrel carburetor
  • Headers
  • Stainless steel 3” dual exhaust

Owned by the most recent owner since 2012, the owner had an extensive professional mechanical and cosmetic build done that was completed around 2016.  During this build, the front hood, fenders, doors and floor were replaced.  Since its completion, is has remained properly stored indoors in his collection and has seen occasional summer pleasure use.

One item of note is that the windshield has a small chip.  In addition, total mileage is unknown.

If a unique custom with plenty of eye appeal and power is what you desire, this 1981 Malibu is the one for you!
