Classic Car Facts

“Elegant styling and quietness.  Luxurious riding comfort and interior roominess.  Remarkable driving ease and quality workmanship.”  These are the words with which Ford Motor Company described its 1984 Lincoln Town Car, and they are just as fitting today.

This stunning Town Car Signature Series is finished in its original optional Academy Blue Glamour Clearcoat Metallic finish, which is as lustrous as the day it left the showroom floor.  A matching half-vinyl coach roof and tasteful use of mirror-like chrome and bright work further enhance its appearance.  Dual-shade accent stripes in Dark and Light Academy Blue further refine its elegant lines.  Its exterior finish contrasts nicely with its Admiral Blue leather seating areas, which are soft and supple.  Best of all, this beautiful Town Car has only 32,000 original miles.

Powered by a 5.0 liter V-8 engine with electronic fuel injection and mated to an automatic overdrive transmission, this car’s smooth and quiet power train was designed to make you forget its existence.  A brand new dual exhaust system and tires further enhance riding comfort.  This car runs and drives as beautifully as it looks.

In addition to standard luxury and convenience features you would expect on a Lincoln, such as power windows, power seats, power door locks, power antenna, power trunk lid release, power steering and brakes, and automatic climate control air conditioning, you will also appreciate the extra-cost optional equipment with which this Town Car is equipped, including the following:

  • Glamour moondust paint
  • Leather seating areas
  • Keyless entry system
  • Interval windshield wipers
  • Anti-theft alarm system
  • Power glass moonroof
  • Traction-lok axle
  • Tilt steering wheel
  • Leather-wrapped steering wheel
  • Fingertip speed control
  • Electronic AM/FM stereo with cassette
  • Power decklid pull-down
  • Power remote-control dual mirrors
  • 100 Amp alternator
  • Lacy spoke aluminum wheels
  • Garage door opener
  • Class III trailer towing package
  • Dual aluminum visor vanity mirrors
  • CB radio
  • Premium sound system
  • Defroster Group

These options—the most expensive of which being the power glass moonroof at $1,289—totaled almost $5,000—a full 20% of this car’s $25,000 sticker price!  All power options work as they should, but it should be noted that although the air conditioning works, it is not currently blowing ice cold.

Additional items that accompany this car are the original owner’s and shop manuals, window sticker, keys, key chains, and Lincoln introductory cassette tape.  Also provided with sale are over 130 spare parts specific to this car that were acquired over the years by the original owner, many of which are NOS in their boxes.  Among these are a matching set of four aluminum alloy wheels, CB radios, and premium AM/FM stereo with cassette.  A full listing of parts and accompanying part numbers can be provided upon request.

This car was originally purchased by a Ford engineer and was always kept as a collector’s piece by him and subsequent owners.  Never having been driven in winter and always being properly stored indoors and maintained accounts for its showroom condition today.

If a well-equipped and pleasing to drive Town Car is what you desire, this is the car for you!
