Classic Car Facts

Buick introduced its legendary Grand National coupe in 1982.  Named after NASCAR’s Grand National racing series, it was designed to be a factory “street machine,” and featured state of the art technology that rivaled the performance of Chevrolet’s Corvette.  Manufactured from 1982 – 1987, its performance refinements peaked in its final year, with performance considered far ahead of its time.

You will love this stunning 1987 Buick Grand National.  Finished in Black, this car’s finish has a beautiful luster.  Its sporty image is reflected in its monochromatic color scheme, including body-colored front and rear bumpers and optional protective body side moldings and door edge guards.  Its 15” chrome wheels, wrapped in newer BF Goodrich Comp T/A tires, and optional tinted T-tops complete the look.

The interior of this Grand National is equally sporty, featuring comfortable Gray and Black bucket seats with a handy center console.  The interior, including its seats, carpeting, dashboard, door panels and headliner are in excellent condition.  You will also appreciate this car’s many comfort and convenience options, including the following:

  • Power windows
  • Power door locks
  • Tilt steering column
  • Electric rear-window defogger
  • Cruise control
  • 2-speed windshield wiper/delay
  • Passenger visor vanity mirror
  • Concert sound speaker system
  • AM/FM stereo cassette with seek and scan
  • Air conditioning

Under the hood you will find a sequential fuel injected 3.8 liter turbocharged V-6 with an intercooler mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission with an optional limited-slip differential.  This powertrain yields an impressive 245 horsepower and 355 lb-ft of torque.  In addition, its performance suspension will keep you firmly planted on those twisty two lanes.

More recent maintenance includes an oil and filter change and lube, AC Delco battery, and a newer dual exhaust system.

One item of note is the that air conditioning and odometer are not currently working.  Minor imperfections in the finish do not detract from the overall appearance of this car.  Total mileage is unknown.

A two-owner car, this Grand National has always been well cared for, and was enjoyed by its previous owner since 2004.  All available service records, the owner’s manual, and window sticker will be included with sale.

If a beautifully cared for Grand National is what you’re after, this is the one for you!
